Our Re-homed Dogs

From time to time we have some of our dogs (sometimes other people's) to re-home.

All of our dogs will have been here at the farm for some time, but for various reasons we decide that a different home is needed.

If you are looking for an older dog and can offer a kind and loving pet home, then please get in touch.

All of our dogs are Kennel Club Registered, however all dogs must be spayed or neutered before leaving here to ensure that they are not misused in the future.

Please Note: These dogs are already re-homed.

The dogs that are still looking for good homes are in our Dogs Available page

SiSi is named after her grandmothers Sierra’s pet name.

A very special girl for me in many ways. Sierra was the most wonderful of girls, being one of my 4 patriarch girls, Sooner, Hope, Sapphire & Sierra. These 4 girls would mix with any dog, raise any pup, be in charge of any situation, they were all calm, caring and fiercely loyal to me.

Sierra had only 2 litters of 5 girls in each litter. Sadly one of the girls from these litters was bred from by an external person and a legacy of extremely bad breeding took place simply to produce unique colours. This experience for me was the sole reason why I never lift restrictions to breed anymore.

SiSi is all I have of Sierra and so for me to continue such a special girls’ lines in a healthy, correct and ethical way is important.

SiSi is one of the rarest of colours you’ll find in the GSD, being Isabella, a unique fusion of ginger tones.

This girl is power and on reflection should have been called Boadicea, she fears nothing and will give her whole self to keep your space safe for you. With this nature comes a fine balance. Once SiSi knows you she is ‘yours’ no compromise, no judgement, no negotiation, she is simply all yours, however her space is your space and she will guard it with ferocity.

SiSi will not welcome strangers lightly but once she knows you, there are no bounds to her love and affection for you.

I would very much like to find SiSi a semi-retirement home but know that this will take a very special location a very special owner and ultimately a very special friend to take SiSi into their lives, until then she will of course be loved by me.

Daughter to Splash & Boy

Granddaughter to Ava & Stone

Great Granddaughter to Grace & Chillie

Great great Granddaughter to Roma & Vito, Kenya & Ryder.

Great great great Granddaughter to Tiger & Layla Sky & Weller

I find it almost unbelievable that Kiss and her sister Vienna are GSD’s!!! Each day I look at them and say….really? Are you really a GSD? Well Embark says that you are indeed 100% GSD

Who would have thought that Stone, a 100% working line dark sable, short coated GSD could be their grandad?

The Panda marking too is truly unusual, it’s worth a google (if you dare) search and a good read up on the subject.

Vienna is a really solid young lady, she is clearly beautiful but has such a kind and sweet nature that she seems like an old soul is in there somewhere. Her lovely symmetrical markings on her face and those cute little spots on her nose, just lovely.

Along with her sister Kiss, she really is a showstopper when out and about, of course no-one believes they are GSDs, any why would they?

Vienna is super affectionate, she can be a little tentative around new people, we are working on that and letting her progress in her own time.

Dogs like ourselves are all very different.

Margo is simply gorgeous, a lovely silver sable long coated girl, with the prettiest of everything really.

Margo is very youthful in her manner, she is playful, carefree and happy to just fly around the fields chasing whatever and whoever there is to find fun with.

A fantastic specimen of a silver sable long coat GSD, Minx really did make some beautiful pups that I know many of us are very grateful for.

Margo will hopefully produce some equally wonderful pups in time, but in the meantime, she will continue her merry way in life

Making Iris 5th generation GVW GSD

Iris is a beautiful young lady with piercing eyes. She is much loved by our staff and visitors due to her playful yet kind nature. Iris has proven herself to be a good mum using her fair temperament to raise her puppies.

Iris is now in her semi-retirement home and will come back to us for her 2nd litter which will be her last, here’s some of her new owners feedback:

Iris is settling in really really well!
There's a great facility nearby that rents a private dog walking 3
acre field. It's been a great way for her to get to know us and have a
good run and play especially while in heat, all secure and totally private.

She's eating and sleeping well, lots of exploring and sniffing, bee
hunting and helping in the garden! Today she met our dog loving 78 year old neighbour who is already in love with Iris and demanding an 8x10inch photo to add to her wall next to her framed photos of Hershey & Issy!
More updates to follow!
Thank you!
Gina & Tim

Hi Andrea!
Just sending an Iris update.
Things we found out about the lovely Iris this week.
She likes ice cubes, socks, long walks, rivers and ponds. She seems to be fine with cows, the pub and the coffee shop; appreciates a good pillow, an afternoon nap, a good long fuss and a brushing. She's settling in just fine! She seems to like all the things we do!! Perfect!
Oh, Andrea. She's just wonderful!

Aida boasts the best hips we have ever seen here at GVW, being 0/2.

A perfect little package of beauty and drive.

Aida, is a busy little lady who aims to please, loves a good fuss and is super responsive.

Slightly bossy but happy to play out with other dogs, as long as she is in charge.

A beautifully glossy long coat sable. Aida has proven to be a fabulous mum.

We will look to find Aida a semi-retirement home that can offer her all that she deserves.

Aida is perfectly clean in the house and is very partial to a good sofa!

This wonderful little chap who joined us Autumn 2023. What a kind natured, happy dog he is.

Super with all the other dogs and a great favourite not just visually but in personality.

Ingo has clearly had the best upbringing that is so obviously reflected in just how he is.

He loves to climb on the hay bales and make a mess, he loves to eat horse pooh too!!!!

Ingo also loves a game of tag and chase and is simply a happy young man.

Sadly Ingo’s Elbow scores did not come back as I would have liked and so he has been neutered.

He lives a full and happy life here with us and is a firm favourite with our dogs and dogs coming in to board, he is simply a very happy soul.

Would I re-home him? Potentially.

If the right home came along then I would certainly consider it for Ingo.

Here is a little write up from Breeze's new owners.

Update on Breeze.

We visited Andrea to see her dogs and instantly fell in love with Breeze even though Breeze wasn’t officially available Andrea was kind enough to let us bring her home!

Wow what an absolutely beautiful loving dog she is exactly as Andrea told us she can be very bossy!! But she has settled in really well at home.

Breeze is extremely intelligent; she is an absolute pleasure to be with!

She comes to work with me every day and has adapted really, we to being in a busy working garage.

All in all, an absolutely beautiful little girl

Daughter to Iris & Captain

Granddaughter to Stone & Rosie, Charlie & T’Challa

Great Granddaughter to Roma & Vito, Winter & Ryder

Great Great Granddaughter to River & Otis, Weller & Sky

Great Great Great Granddaughter to My first ever stud boy White Charlie & the beautiful Ruby

Making Breeze 6th generation GVW and absolutely beautiful, thankfully! As her cheeky, sometimes evasive behaviour gets her into mischief. She is maturing well and from a very early age, she has been able to assess the group she plays out with. She loves strong minded, educational dogs that she can learn from, she pushes the boundaries with some but has always known instinctively when a dog is the boss of her, she is a very clever girl. On the flip side she can be a bit of a bully if she thinks she can get away with it…she isn’t allowed to, we chose all of our dogs’ groups wisely, or a wisely as nature allows us to.

Structurally she is wide, deep coated, big bottomed, a clear line of big fluffy, chunky dogs which I see in each and every dog that has come from White Charlie.

A beautiful girl, I know I keep saying that but she just is. You have to see her and feel her and watch the sun, shine on that magnificent coat and in into those gorgeous amber eyes, to feel the magnificence of her.

Hopefully this little lady will make the grade for her hips and elbows….let’s wait and see….roll forwards & yes she made the grades. Brilliant

Athena is sister to T’Challa.
She is extremely elegant, happy, kind and very sociable.

Athena has the most beautiful coat, at first glance solid black but in fact it is a mixture of bi-colour and seal… never been to great on colours but this is my guess.

She has a wonderful light charm about her, especially when in the fields chasing butterflies and in general exploring her surroundings. Her gait and elegance just ‘float on by’

When Athena is old enough to have pups, my choice would probably be Captain, Captain will complement Athena’s charm in many ways in addition to being n/n for DM, against Athena’s n/dm.

Moving on….

Athena has had 3 very beautiful litters and has proven to be the very best of mums in her rearing and capability. She is strong and athletic with a long, sleek black/seal coat that often eludes the true beauty on a photograph.

Athena is very lovely and very loyal, she will turn on a coin for you and her re-call is impeccable. Always loves a ball, her playmates and a good fuss and a carrot. Athena is very easy to please and very easy to love.

Athena also does not like all dogs, but is responsive and very open to correction, so a strong minded handler is always a must.
We will look to find a retirement home for Athena. This home will need to have confident family members as Athena, who are as loving as they are firm. Athena is very intuitive.

Tarka, is brilliant.

A truly strong-minded gem, all on Tarka’s terms but willing to please, to relax, to be loved.

Tarka has a wonderful short bi colour coat which shows her fantastic structure off to great effect.

Her brother boasts coming Best Reserved GSD pup at Crufts in 2022 – quite a big step in the right direction with his strong straight back and high hocks.

We will be excited to receive a litter from this lady and see how she fares as a mother, because as everything else she is without fault.

A semi-retirement home will be found for Tarka, she will need love, structure, friendship and would really suit someone who maybe would like to be active with her, camping, walking, swimming, whatever it is I am certain Tarka with thrive.

Tiger (Left) & Layla (Both Living In The Same Home)

Tiger

Layla

Layla is a 5 year old GSD female. After delivering a parcel to Glebe Von Wood and speaking with Andrea, I was introduced to Layla, I knew the second I saw her that I wanted to take her home.

We had now had her for 8 weeks and she is perfect.

She settled in amazingly & is always clean in the house. She loves long walks around Sense Valley and a is always a joy when I get back from work, she turns back into a pup for her tummy rub.

She is brilliant with people and once she has been with other dogs for a few minutes shes great, it just takes a few minutes to suss them out.

Andrea was amazing through the bonding time that we had with Layla before we eventually brought her home for good. It's great to know is a phone call away. We have been to visit Andrea with Layla several times.

As promised we have had Layla spayed. Thank you so much.

We have had Tiger as a part of the family for a while now. He is a big softie and a clumsy dog, also a bit dramatic!!!!

He is such a joy to have in our lives. We also have Layla as part of the family, also from GVW.

Tiger and Layla are very much stuck at the side of each other though I'm more sure it's Tiger who is Layla's shadow.

Autumn

Hello! I have lived in my new home for seven months now and I love it here. At first I was very quiet but soon became the chattiest member of the family. I quickly became best friends with Norton and Harley who also lived at Glebe Von Wood for a while; they now live at Nana’s house up the road. Although I love walking over the fields and parks with a ball, my favourite walks are with Norton. I am sometimes a little unsure about other people but love to have cuddles with my friends and family. Off to play now. Lots of woofs. Autumn xx

Seeing Autumn at Glebe Von Wood was love at first sight. Since coming she came to live with us she has become the light of our lives. We walk almost every day with Lamby (her lamb toy) and a ball (which tend to last about 2 walks). She makes me smile everyday. When I arrive home from work we have our “mummy cuddles” then she tells me all about her day and what’s been going on in and around the house. She then turns into my favourite shadow while I do the chores until we sit down for Emmerdale and some more cuddles. You might think me mad but she is so very clever and can count! When we here the town hall bells Autumn knows we have to wait for 5 bells for dinner and 7 bells for Emmerdale, our very own genius J All in all Autumn is clever, funny, loving and a little nuts and we love her! Tammy x

Tarka

When Andrea offered Tarka to me I just had to have her.

I had recently bought Pixie from Andrea, so having her half-sister was so right.

Tarka is loyal, sweet-natured, gentle and very loving. I can't stop cuddling her! She's fitted into our 'pack' of 5 dogs perfectly.

Pixie is only 2 months older than Tarka and Cerys, my border collie, is the same age.
(I must be crazy to take on 3 pups! They play together, exercise together, eat together and sleep together (eventually!)

I am so proud of Tarka - she's beautiful.

Weller

Weller came to us and joined his son Oliver and our ever loyal spaniel moss. From the second he came it was clear there was a father and son bond along with a true friendship with moss.

Settled in immediately and a part off the family . Everyone loves him and he's brilliant with all the dogs, people and little furry ones .it's like he's always been here .

Thanks so much for this beautiful boy xx

Claire and Paul

Sky

Sky has settled in really quickly. She's an absolute sweetheart and so chilled out. We haven't had to 'dog proof' the house at all - all our possessions remain intact & she hasn't even thought about getting on the sofa - so well behaved!

Her favourite activity is playing ball on the park, we also love walking off lead through the countryside. When there's nothing going on she's happy to relax on the dining room floor, but if you make a move she's right there next to you to see what's going on!

New Ruby

New Ruby arrived with our family last Monday.

She settled in very quickly and its as if we've had her for years!

She is great on and off the lead and gets constant compliments by everyone we meet. She absolutely loves fuss and would happily let us stroke and tickle her all day!....

Massive thanks to Andrea and her team for the obvious love they have given her and for allowing her to be part of our family!

Pixie

Although Pixie has only been with us for a week, she is very much part of the family.

The other dogs - 2 male GSDs and my border collie girl absolutely adore her. Pixie is a very sociable, happy and well-balanced youngster with an inquisitive nature and a desire to please. Already very obedient, she is quick to learn and is enjoying all her new experiences. Pixie is beautiful, both in looks and nature and I'm very proud of her.

Thanks again for Pixie, I adore her!

White Charlie

Charlie has settled in a dream. You would think that he had been here all his life. We have nicknamed him Sir Charles as he is too posh to spend his days outdoors or in the kitchen with the others and has firmly ensconced himself in the day room with our head of pack, Katrina. Having him here has cheered Katrina back up again as she missed Jethro so much and had become very lethargic and withdrawn. He also suits his 'magic charm' name as all my girls have started to come in to season!!

To sum Charlie up I would say he is a most loving, gentle, laid-back boy and an absolute pleasure to have with us.

DeeDee

DeeDee went to her new home on December 27th, here's an update from her new family.

Dee Dee has settled in superbly well with us in just a short space of time. We have got her walking on the lead very nicely now after a few good training sessions. She is very responsive and a pleasure to be out with!

Rosa and Dee Dee get out on the fields and have a great time running around like loons.

She is also very patient with Rosa who sometimes just won't leave her alone when she wants to doze.

It seams like she has been here for ages. One of the family now.

Lily

We were recommended by another dog breeder to contact Andrea at Glebe Von Wood due to her excellent reputation as a German Shepherd breeder.

We initially approached Andrea to buy a puppy but in doing so we saw the most beautiful one year old white German Shepherd called Lilly who Andrea was re-homing.

We simply fell in love with Lilly and she has since become our beautiful loving companion. We have had Lilly for 7 months now and she is the most adorable, loving dog that we could of wished for.

Every now and again, older dogs come available at Glebe Von Wood and I would strongly recommend that you consider having one as your companion. We are so incredibly happy with Lilly that we have decided to get her a brother or sister from Andrea later on this year.

Echo

It was love at first sight......... Echo was a year old when I met her at the farm and I have now had her for a year. She settled in immediately, making friends with neighboring dogs and 'Willy' the cat.

She is very sociable and affectionate and we have become inseparable. She has traveled the country with me, staying in a caravan, B and B, Holiday cottages, even a Premier Inn! She has climbed Ben Nevis, the Cairngorms and walked the coastal paths of Cornwall.

She has also found her sea legs and has been on boats and ferries. A few months ago I decided to get her a little brother from Andrea who loves her as much as I do. He has already got his novice hiking badge

Maple

Maple came to us by accident, we were awaiting a litter of pups when she became available, we were asked directly if we would consider re-homing her with us and to then only take one pup instead of the two we had requested.

Maple is a beautiful young lady, very loving, obedient, friendly, confident, and has reared Sapphire as her own, we feel very lucky to have her, she is so eager to please and loves playing ball and tummy rubs, she is also excellent around children, Maple does sometimes demand attention, (as if she doesn't get enough) she also loves the water.

She is very settled and we love her and sapphire dearly, we were so lucky to find Andrea, and would recommend to anyone

Rhani & Navara

Andrea has been kind enough to re-home two of her lovely girls with me in the past. In May 2010 I collected Navara on behalf of my parents, but after a short car journey and an afternoon together I could not leave her and we have been together ever since. Myself and Navara have a very special bond and she never leaves my side. She is the most loving girl that you can imagine, such a great companion to all of my family (including my two boys and wife).

After a couple of months my parents had two girls from Rhani's second litter. Andrea knew that I always wanted a second girl in my own family and kindly offered Rhani to me for rehoming. Both myself and Andrea knew that Rhani would be the perfect match for Navara and I am so pleased to say that we could not have been more right. Rhani is a beautiful girl with so much character and together they really bring out the best in each other.

They are very loving half sisters that always look out for each other. They lie all over each other when resting and are constantly running side by side. Rhani is the more outgoing of the two and one of the most beautiful sights is seeing her really running her two daughters. Navara however is the more gentle girl who can always be found beneath my legs.

I love both by girls so much.

(such a lovely gift - thanks Andrea)!!

Du
tch is our delight.

She is playful, a little on the gobby side but not aggressive and plays well with all dogs.

She is vocal but very happy to be corrected by both ourselves and other dogs.

She is making a really nice addition and is fantastically behaved when out on her external walks.

She has been raised by Queenie and it shows.

When I first collected Dutch from her wonderful breeder in Holland, we stopped off for some lunch in Arnhem, she was unfazed and calmly lay by my side whilst we ate. She travelled in our van and was kennelled for the 9hr crossed, again she took it all in her stride.

A real quality youngster who I am very happy to have at GVW.

Dutch came to us from The Netherlands specifically to breed with Boy when she was an older girl, sadly the hip results were not good enough for her to have pups, however this is life and these are the risks a breeder takes.

The main thing here, is that Dutch will be spayed and find the best pet home.

We raise all of our dogs well, with the thought in mind, that if I ‘drop dead’ they all have the skills to become part of a loving family.

Anyone that has ever been to meet our dogs will know first-
hand, how loving they are.

To put her hips into perspective, the highest score for hips for a dogs hips could be 106.

Below is a little more information for you to take in.

Should you wish to enquire more about Dutch, please do drop us an e mail

Ava is 4th generation GVW

Daughter of Grace & Chillie

Granddaughter of Kenya & Ryder

Great granddaughter of Tiger & Layla

Mother to Boy from Stone

Ava is a gorgeous silver sable girl, great out with our terriers and youngsters.

One of 2 sisters, Ava and Munroe. Calm, kind, gracious a truly beautiful dark silver sable girl.

Very, very happy and easy to please. Ava is being raised by her mother, both a little bossy around food, but very manageable. I think Ava will fit in just nicely here, she is alert and loves playing out with her young sister, which shows me she has a great nature.

Roll forward a few years……

She is already nicely settled into her semi-retirement home and lives in the same village living with one of our retired boys Cooper and her new family, Neil & Liz, whom I thank with all of my heart for giving Ava such a wonderful loving home.

Amazing in her nature and her elegance.

Ava is without a doubt one of our best girls and we are very proud to be able to not only show but authenticate such an impressive line of nature and beauty leading all the way to this little lady.

Fantastic on the lead and super chilled in the house environment.

Ava has made the very best of mums, and hopefully will have her last litter with us before she well and truly hangs up her pregnancy boots!

Ava will now fully retire.
